I haven’t been able to think of anything to write because all my computer time has been spent panicking freaking out researching the possible moving scenarios. The biggest kink in the plan is that we would have to sell our house before Mr. A could apply for a job. Needless to say, the housing market here bites big time right now. We can’t lose all our equity selling the house below what we paid, so we may be stuck here for a while.
I am unclear as to why, but M didn’t have school today. She also doesn’t have school Monday for Martin Luther King day. Is a four day weekend really necessary so close to escaping the monotony of Christmas break??
M brought a Martin Luther King day project from school. All the kids seemed to have used the same brown crayon to color Dr. King. M has never shown much interest in making her drawings of people look true to skin tone. Usually she draws everything with red, because that is her favorite color. The brown skinned coloring makes me wonder a little about what her teachers’ instructions were and what kind of discussions were going on in the class. She did manage to say the poem in a way that was understandable this year.
In other exciting news, Mr. A and I are going out to dinner tonight. Without children. With other grown-ups. I am so excited at the prospect, I don’t even care where we go. We could eat at a truck stop and I will be thrilled.
